James R. Pullin has earned CPIM, CSCP, C.P.M. certification and is well qualified to help others reach professional recognition. Jim has earned APICS designation as a Master Instructor CPIM and Lead Instructor CSCP.
Jim has been active in APICS and the Institute of Supply Management over 25 years. During this time he has earned lifetime certifications in Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), and Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.). Jim continues to teach review courses in these areas for the Mid-Florida Chapter.
Jim has vast teaching experience. While assigned to the Artillery and Missile School, he was a member of the Artillery School faculty and taught Nuclear Weapons Employment in the Tactics Department. During this tour he was the first Captain to graduate from the two week Instructor school as a Level One Instructor. He maintained this level of proficiency through out his military career. Later in his career, as a member of Scenario Oriented Evaluation System (SCORES), he conducted briefings around the world, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
After retirement, Jim joined the faculty of the University of Central Florida in the Management Department. He taught classes in Operations Management, Quality Management, Purchasing Management, and Inventory Control.
Jim took a brief break from UCF and attended graduate school at Georgia State University. There he taught graduate and undergraduate classes. As part of his curriculum he studied methods of adult education in a specially designed course for educators at the graduate level. He also worked with a special IBM project that utilized his talents in Operations Management.
As a pastime Jim studies postal history and is a certifice judge for International Stamp Shows in the USA and has authored North Atlantic Packets 1818-1840, covering the early years of mail service between USA and England. See additional philatelic information on these pages.
