North Atlantic Packets Departures & Arrivals 1818-1840   By James R. Pullin

Jim spent over ten years searching through contemporary newspapers and other periodicals searching for sailing data on the ships of the six American packet lines.

Beginning with the Black Ball Line, additional lines entered the lucrative packet trade. These were the Red Star, Blue Swallowtail, Balck X, Dramatic and Red Swallowtail.

Approximately 100 pages of data document saliling and departure dates of these lines between New York, Liverpool and London during the period when American Packets dominated the transport of fine cargo like specie, fine wine, textiles, mail and important passengers.
